Soliant is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to provide coverage for a maternity leave from October through January. This role involves working with a diverse caseload, spanning from Pre-K through 8th grade, across five schools in the Oak Lawn, Illinois area. If you are a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant with experience in school or pediatric settings and a passion for helping students achieve their physical therapy goals, we encourage you to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and educational team to assess students' physical therapy needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students in a school-based setting, addressing a range of developmental and motor challenges.
  • Implement individualized therapy plans that align with students' specific goals and IEP (Individualized Education Program) objectives.
  • Work with students to improve their gross motor skills, mobility, strength, and coordination, fostering independence in various educational environments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and assessments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to integrate therapy strategies into the educational curriculum.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of group therapy sessions when necessary.
  • Support and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assisting or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois state licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to providing high-quality physical therapy services to students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
