Position: Physical Therapist (School System)
Location: Drexel Hill, PA 

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Physical Therapist to join our school in Drexel Hill, PA for the 2023-2024 school year. As a School-Based Physical Therapist, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' physical development, promoting their independence and participation in the educational setting. Your expertise will help students with physical disabilities or challenges improve their mobility, motor skills, and overall physical function.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' physical abilities and needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results, targeting specific areas of concern.
  • Provide direct physical therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, utilizing evidence-based techniques and interventions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the classroom and promote carryover of skills.
  • Implement adaptive equipment and assistive technology to support students' physical independence and accessibility.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to contribute to the development and implementation of student goals.
  • Provide guidance and training to teachers and support staff on strategies to promote physical development and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support and interventions for students with physical challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania.
  • Previous experience working in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of a variety of physical disabilities, motor disorders, and therapy techniques.
  • Strong understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the special education process.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor student progress.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and maintain accurate documentation.
