Deliver precise and compassionate care as a Radiation Therapist within a specialized cancer treatment environment. This contract role offers a schedule of five 8-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week at a leading cancer institute dedicated to advanced radiation therapy techniques.

Location: Situated in the Alexandria, VA area, the position is based at a state-of-the-art cancer treatment center recognized for its innovative approaches and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer radiation therapy treatments using Varian systems, including Truebeam, Trilogy, IBA Proton, and Aria EMR platforms.
  • Collaborate with oncology teams to deliver individualized treatment plans.
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Follow departmental protocols and participate in ongoing training and orientation.
  • Work within a ratio of two therapists per patient to ensure attentive care.
  • Flexibility to work variable weekends if necessary, especially if treatments on the proton machine require weekend scheduling.
  • Strict adherence to dress code (gray scrubs) and departmental standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Virginia State Radiation Therapist (RT(T)) license is required at the time of application.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Varian treatment systems.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to operate Varian Truebeam, Trilogy, IBA Proton, and Aria EMR software.
  • Strong communication skills and a patient-focused approach.

Schedule:

  • 5 shifts per week, 8 hours each, totaling 40 hours.
  • Variable weekend availability required.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
