A partner school district is seeking to hire a School Psychologist in Puyallup, Washington. The position is full-time, virtually from home working with a variety of students, disabilities, and age groups ranging from K-8th grade. Caseload preference may be taken into consideration. You will follow the school calendar and will be responsible for providing guidance and assistance to our students, staff, and family members.

As a School Psychologist, you will be treating students individually and/or in a group setting. You are responsible for helping the students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. You will collaborate and communicate with administrators, educators, and families on how to create a safe, healthy, and supportive learning environment for our students

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Masters in School Psychology or related field
  • NCSP would be preferred but not required
  • Prior schools experience or internship needed
  • CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Washington School Psychologist certification
  • Another state School Psychologist certification and willingness to obtain Washington will be allowed but need to call the BoE to inquire before submitting application
  • SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Working with variety of students’ grades (K-8).
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and report writing.
  • Provide intervention.
  • Patricipate in individual and group counseling
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Meeting.
  • Communicate and work with students, families, and educators by meeting both educational and mental health needs in schools.
  • Demonstrate expertise in collecting, managing, and interpreting various types of individual and group data
  • Educate teachers, parents, and students in understanding, preventing, and addressing learning, behavioral, developmental, and emotional difficulties.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student records and information
  • Participate in planning and implementing prevention programs to address the social and effective needs of students (e.g., programs to address bullying, school violence, and school safety)
