A healthcare facility in Arden, NC, is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide critical care support on a 13-week contract. This role requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least one year of experience in critical care and specialized skills including intubation, ventilator management, and C-section patient care. Candidates must hold required certifications and be comfortable floating across various inpatient units such as the emergency department, ICU, and orthopedic units.

Key Qualifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification through NBRC and NC licensing required
  • Current AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications
  • Minimum 1+ year of critical care experience, with travel experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with C-section patient care
  • Proficient in Epic electronic charting system
  • Skilled in intubation and managing ventilators and treatments

Schedule and Work Details:

  • 12-hour night shifts: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Up to 36 hours per week (hours not guaranteed during orientation or holidays)
  • No blocked scheduling; scheduling flexibility required
  • Float to multiple inpatient units throughout the hospital
  • Every other weekend rotation; no on-call or call-back required
  • Orientation available on both days and nights

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver respiratory therapy services across multiple inpatient units, including ICU and ED
  • Manage ventilator settings and respiratory treatments accurately
  • Perform intubation as needed with critical care patients, including post-C-section cases
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic
