A skilled Respiratory Therapist is needed for a contract opportunity in Boise, Idaho. This role involves working across a wide range of patient care areas, providing comprehensive respiratory support to diverse populations including NICU Level IIB, MICU, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform respiratory treatments including ABGs (radial or brachial) and manage respiratory equipment such as Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, and Vapotherm.
- Assist with intubations; independent intubation is not required.
- Provide care coverage in ER, inpatient units, ICU, MICU, MS-Tele, PACU, and may float to sister facilities nearby.
- Collaborate closely with intensivists, anesthesiologists, and hospitalists available 24/7.
- Follow self-scheduling protocols with flexible shift coverage, including days, evenings, nights, alternating weekends, and holiday rotations as needed.
- Complete 1-2 shifts of unit-specific orientation under a preceptor.
Qualifications:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) not accepted.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NICU care requires NRP.
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; comfort with floating between specialties essential.
- Experience with Level II NICU preferred, including attending deliveries and initiating CPAP.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
