This role demands expert knowledge and hands-on experience in respiratory therapy to deliver intensive and compassionate respiratory care to patients in a critical illness and rehabilitation setting. Responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, operating advanced ventilatory equipment, and providing patient education. You will ensure the highest standards of care while collaborating closely with healthcare teams to track patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accreditation required
  • Proven ability to perform invasive and non-invasive ventilation therapies, suctioning, chest physiotherapy, and oxygen administration
  • Skilled in conducting pulmonary function testing, 12-Lead EKG, arterial puncture, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS and ACLS certified preferred)
  • Experience with critical care respiratory equipment including endotracheal intubation and mechanical ventilation management
  • Proficient in documentation, data entry, and communication with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients and execute physician-prescribed respiratory treatment plans
  • Administer ventilatory support and manage oxygen therapy devices
  • Monitor respiratory status through oximetry, capnography, and chest x-rays review
  • Assist in respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopies and tracheostomy care
  • Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and ensure safety standards
  • Provide patient education upon discharge and coordinate with the clinical team during shift changes
