An opportunity is available for an experienced Respiratory Therapist to support specialized respiratory care in a contract role located in Harpers Ferry, WV. This position involves working with a diverse patient population including neonates, pediatrics, and adults within a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients and develop appropriate treatment plans based on physician orders and evaluations.
  • Administer respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy, humidity therapy, airway management, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, BiPAP, CPAP, nebulizers, inhalers, and arterial blood gases (ABGs).
  • Independently perform intubations for pediatric and adult patients.
  • Manage and operate advanced respiratory equipment including ventilators and high flow air systems.
  • Provide EKG monitoring during designated shifts as per unit protocol (not within the ER).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with licensure obtained prior to July 1, 2022.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.
  • Proven expertise working in NICU (Level II), PICU, and adult critical care settings.
  • Ability to work night shifts including rotating weekends and every other holiday.
  • Experience with electronic medical records, preferably EPIC.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Schedule and Shift Details:

  • Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 nights per week with rotating weekends.
  • Call responsibilities during designated weekend periods.
  • Flexible scheduling coordinated four weeks in advance.
