A healthcare institution in Lincolnton, NC, is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist for a contract position working a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This role involves providing critical respiratory care in a Level 3 Trauma hospital with 241 licensed beds, a Certified Chest Pain Center, and a Stroke Center. Experience with adult critical care is essential, and pediatric or infant care experience is preferred.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) licensure
- Current NC Respiratory Therapy licensure
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
- Minimum of 2 years respiratory therapy experience; first-time travelers are welcome
- Proficiency in adult critical care skills; pediatric and infant care a plus
- Ability and willingness to float within Region 3 facilities, including Cleveland, Kings Mountain, Lincoln, and other designated emergency departments
- Comfortable using technology such as EPIC EMR, Omnicell medication dispensing, and respiratory equipment including Servo I ventilators, Trilogy ventilators, Servo Air BIPAP, ABL Blood Gas analyzers, and Bubble CPAP
Responsibilities:
- Deliver respiratory therapy across a variety of patient ages from infants to geriatrics with diverse diagnoses
- Collaborate with a departmental leadership team and 24/7 hospitalists; virtual critical care support provided after hours
- Participate in orientation including new employee orientation and two departmental days
- Work every other weekend; holiday work required approximately 75% of the time
- No on-call or callback duties
- Floating within the regional network as needed, with paid travel time
