RRT - Martinsburg, WV

A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with comprehensive experience across NICU, PICU, and adult patient care. The role requires strong clinical skills in respiratory therapy, including independent intubation for pediatric and adult patients.

Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted if licensed before July 1, 2022 • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications • Proven experience working with neonates, pediatrics, and adults in critical care settings • Ability to independently perform intubations for pediatric and adult patients • Familiarity with respiratory equipment including Servo-u, Hamilton G5 and T1, Phillips Respironics V60, AirVo, MaxTech systems • Proficient in managing mechanical ventilation, airway management, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred

Responsibilities: • Conduct patient assessments and develop respiratory treatment plans based on physician orders and clinical evaluations • Administer respiratory therapies including oxygen delivery, mechanical ventilation, Bipap, Cpap, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy • Independently perform intubations for both pediatric and adult patients • Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and adjust plans accordingly • Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care • Provide continuous respiratory support in NICU, PICU, ER, and adult ICU settings • Perform EKGs during designated hours as required by facility protocols

Schedule: • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 pm to 7:30 am • 3 nights per week with rotating weekends and holidays • Weekend shifts include coverage on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights and days on a rotating basis

Additional Information: • COVID-19 vaccination is required, with exemption requests approved through a formal process • The position includes flexibility for shift scheduling, with schedules approved at least four weeks in advance • Facility supports a collaborative Respiratory Therapy leadership team to assist with daily operations and staffing
