A skilled Respiratory Therapist opportunity is available in Meridian, ID for a contract assignment with flexible scheduling and a dynamic team environment. This role involves providing comprehensive respiratory care across various patient populations including NICU Level llB, MICU, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics. The position requires the ability to float between specialties such as ICU, MICU, Telemetry, and ER, delivering critical respiratory treatments and managing respiratory equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform arterial blood gases (ABGs) via radial or brachial puncture
- Administer all respiratory treatments, including PACU and overnight oximetry
- Assist with intubations under guidance (independent intubation not required)
- Float efficiently throughout the hospital and potentially to nearby sister facilities
- Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, anesthesia teams, and contribute to patient care in ER and inpatient settings
- Participate in self-scheduling to support staffing needs, including weekend and holiday rotations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) not accepted
- Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NRP certification mandatory for NICU care
- Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Comfort with Level II NICU responsibilities, including deliveries and initiating CPAP
- Ability to manage various respiratory equipment such as Drager V500, Hamilton, ReVel, V60s, Vapotherm, and EPOC

- Self-scheduling model requires flexibility to fill shift gaps and potential mid-shift float assignments
- Professional dress code with any scrub color accepted
- Orientation includes 1-2 shifts with a preceptor covering NICU/General and ICU areas
