Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
  • Proven competencies in advanced respiratory assessments and intervention
  • Strong knowledge of ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen/aerosol delivery devices, and medication administration via nebulizer
  • Skilled in chest physiotherapy and various suctioning techniques (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal)
  • Proficient in oximetry, capnography monitoring, and performing/reviewing chest x-rays
  • Ability to perform and analyze 12-Lead EKG, recognize arrhythmias, and conduct pulmonary function studies
  • Experience supporting procedures such as bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care (including emergent techniques), arterial blood gas sampling, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (BLS/ACLS)
  • Familiarity with lab procedures for respiratory diagnostics, preventive maintenance of equipment, and accurate electronic recordkeeping

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement patient-specific respiratory care plans
  • Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments, and provide discharge education
  • Administer and monitor mechanical ventilation, airway management, and pulmonary therapies
  • Collaborate directly with physicians to adjust therapies for optimal outcomes
  • Document all treatments, patient responses, and updates to care plans
  • Maintain equipment operability and coordinate necessary repairs
  • Ensure accurate billing records and proper shift-to-shift handoff communication
