A critical-care respiratory role is now available in Waynesville, NC, offering a 13-week contract opportunity designed for experienced respiratory therapists ready for a dynamic clinical setting. This position involves providing advanced respiratory care across multiple inpatient units, including emergency, ICU, and orthopedic departments, during 12-hour night shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized respiratory therapies such as intubation and ventilator management.
  • Adapt care across various inpatient settings, requiring float flexibility.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic charting system.
  • Participate in orientation sessions on both days and nights to ensure full preparation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential with applicable NC licensure.
  • Certifications required: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and NBRC.
  • Minimum of one year critical care experience, including C-section cases.
  • Proficient in Epic electronic medical records.
  • Prior travel experience preferred.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour night shifts (6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
  • Up to 36 hours per week; shift flexibility with no blocked scheduling.
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend.
  • No on-call or callback duties.
  • Notes: Facility reserves the right to cancel one shift biweekly without penalty; orientation weeks and holiday closures may affect hours.
