Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: near Mountain Grove, Missouri

Duration: Full 23/24 School Year
 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for a school-based position near Mountain Grove, Missouri. The candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide individual and group therapy to students with speech and language disorders.

It's important to note that the specific tasks assigned to an SLPA may vary depending on the needs of the students, the supervising SLP's direction, and the school district's policies and guidelines. Communication and collaboration with the supervising SLP are key to understanding and fulfilling your specific responsibilities.

Details: 

  • Part-time, 2 days per week
    • Can be Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday
  • Full 23-24 School Year
    • August 29th start
  • K-12 Caseload, mainly elementary

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting speech and language assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, language comprehension, and communication skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for each student
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment plans
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed of the latest therapy techniques and best practices

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
  • Current state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Missouri
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with school-aged children with speech and language disorders
  • Experience with a variety of treatment approaches and modalities, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents
  • Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
