Duration: Full 23/24 School Year
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for a school-based position in Fillmore, California. The candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide individual and group therapy to students with speech and language disorders.
Details:
- Full-time, 30 hours per week
- 8/16/23 - 6/6/24
- Full 23-24 School Year
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting speech and language assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement
- Implement treatment plans developed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, language comprehension, and communication skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for each student
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment plans
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed of the latest therapy techniques and best practices
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
- Current state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in California
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with school-aged children with speech and language disorders
- Experience with a variety of treatment approaches and modalities, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents
- Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
