Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (School-Based)

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Valid Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology License.
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred).
    • Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for Speech-Language Pathologists (required for school-based practice).
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
    • Familiarity with working on IEP teams and serving diverse student populations.
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
    • Proficiency in evaluation tools and therapy techniques tailored to school-aged children.
    • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to varying caseloads.

Requirements:

  • Completion of state and federal background checks as required by Ohio law.
  • Compliance with local school district policies and procedures.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This school-based role involves working with students to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, helping them reach their full potential in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
  • Provide therapy sessions, both individually and in groups, tailored to students' specific needs.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications.
  • Stay current with best practices, research, and technology in speech-language pathology.
