Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our school-based team in Pomfret, CT. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, and communication disorders in students, helping them achieve academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions aimed at improving students' communication skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and at home.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings to develop, review, and update student goals and progress.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
  • Provide training and resources to teachers and parents on strategies to support students' speech and language development.
  • Stay current with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid SLP license or certification in Connecticut.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Experience working in a school setting is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
