Soliant has partnered with a school in Wisconsin to review applications from Speech-Language Pathologists who are ready to provide services via teletherapy.

Details of this assignment as follows:

  • Significant caseload numbers, varying from 50 to 70
  • Predominantly elementary school students
  • Students seen in groups of 2; therapists who take on 70 students can adjust schedules to see more students per session
  • Therapist will have assistance from an educational aide 4 days per week
  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Requirements:

  • Wisconsin license in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Speech and language endorsement from the Department of Public Instruction
  • If practicing from out of state, teletherapists must also have a valid license in their current state of residence

As a growing field of practice, teletherapy affords SLPs the flexibility to work from home and achieve better work-life balance. Some of our therapists offer services across timezones, allowing them to stagger their work days.

So, given the perks of therapy mediated by technology, what is the catch?

  1. Teletherapists must be tech savvy and be able to trouble-shoot. To that end, we conduct tech screens to assess your computer hardware, internet connection, and the extent of your knowledge of your computer.
  2. Teletherapists must be ready to problem solve when presented with logistical problems, such as students not showing up to their sessions, or co-ordinating department meetings. As such, it is advised that applicants have at least 2 years of recent, on-site experience in schools. (For applicants looking to transition from non-school to school settings, teletherapy isn't the answer just yet)
