We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Counselor to join our partnered school district in Augusta, GA. As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in providing academic, career, and personal/social counseling services to students in order to support their overall well-being and success. Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing academic, career, and personal/social issues.
- Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths, challenges, and needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop effective intervention strategies and support plans.
- Assist students in developing academic and career goals, and provide guidance on course selection, college admissions, and career exploration.
- Support students in developing essential life skills, such as decision-making, problem-solving, and conflict resolution.
- Conduct classroom presentations and workshops on topics relevant to students' personal and academic development.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records, including counseling notes and progress reports.
- Stay updated on current trends and best practices in school counseling through professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field.
- Valid state licensure or certification as a School Counselor.
- Previous experience in a school counseling role is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of counseling techniques and strategies for working with diverse student populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ethical and professional conduct in accordance with relevant guidelines and standards.
