School LPN - 1:1 Assignment - Amherst, NH

Location: Amherst, NH

Dates: ASAP Start - June 12, 2024

Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)

URGENT BACKFILL

Caseload: 1 severely disabled, wheelchair-bound middle school student

Student Special Needs:

• G-tube
• Behavior problems: Biting, kicking, hitting, refusal to move between equipment
• Need toileting assistance and changing assistance
• Cognitive delays

Duties:

As a School LPN with this 1:1 assignment, your responsibilities will include:

• Lifting and Changing: You will be required to lift and change the student alone multiple times. Although there is an onsite RN assigned to the student, they may not always assist with changing and lifting.

• Behavior Management: You will be responsible for mitigating behavior problems exhibited by the student.

• Assisting with Mobility: You will be required to move the student between equipment and lift them onto a changing mat, chair, etc.

• Health Monitoring: Monitoring the health and wellness of the student throughout the school day.

• Mentally Stimulating Activities: Engaging in mentally stimulating activities with the student to enhance their quality of life.

• Constant Supervision: Being with the student at all hours of the assignment.

• Bus Riding: Accompanying the student on the bus from their home to school and back after school.

Requirements:

• Must be caring and compassionate.
• Tolerant and patient when dealing with behavior problems.
• Commitment to consistent attendance, as the student heavily relies on the LPN to access education and transportation to and from school.

Special Requirements:

• MUST BE A FEMALE LPN: This is required by the family due to the student's gender.

• Must have the physical ability to lift over 100 pounds by themselves, as the district may not provide LPN assistance in lifting.

• Willingness to ride the bus with the student to and from school.
