School LPN/RN needed for the 23/24 SY in Rock Hill, SC

We are partnering with a school district to find a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contract position in Rock Hill, SC. 

Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care and support to a newly disabled quadriplegic high school student
• Assist the student with personal care tasks, such as feeding, hygiene, and mobility
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Monitor the student's health condition and respond to any medical emergencies that may arise
• Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, ensuring their safety and well-being during transportation
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to support the student's educational and social needs
• Assist in a special education self-contained class in a classroom assistant capacity during the other half of the day
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians, healthcare providers, and the school district regarding the student's health and progress

Requirements:

• Valid LPN or RN license in the state of South Carolina
• Experience working with students with disabilities or complex medical needs preferred
• Strong understanding of medical procedures and protocols
• Compassionate and patient approach in working with students with special needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Schedule:

• The student arrives at school at 12:35 PM and is picked up by the bus at 3:15 PM.
• Lunch would need to be eaten before the student gets on the bus.
• The nurse would ride the bus with the student between home and school in both directions.
