Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Pontiac, Michigan. As an RN, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare support to students with medically known conditions, ranging from kindergarten to age 26. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to students with medically known conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor and assess students' health conditions and response to treatments.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for students.
- Educate and train school personnel on proper medical procedures and emergency protocols.
- Participate in health-related meetings and contribute to the development of health policies and procedures.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
- Advocate for the well-being and healthcare needs of students.
Qualifications:
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
- Empathy and compassion for students with special medical needs.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to school nursing.
