Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Pontiac, Michigan. As an RN, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare support to students with medically known conditions, ranging from kindergarten to age 26. Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students with medically known conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Monitor and assess students' health conditions and response to treatments.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs).
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for students.
  • Educate and train school personnel on proper medical procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Participate in health-related meetings and contribute to the development of health policies and procedures.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.
  • Advocate for the well-being and healthcare needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Pediatric nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
  • Empathy and compassion for students with special medical needs.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to school nursing.
