Position Type: Full-Time, general school nurse position
Caseload: K-12
Pay range: $What do you need$; Pay based on experience
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct healthcare services to students and staff members, including first aid, medication administration, and medical assessments.
- Managing students with chronic health conditions, allergies, and special healthcare needs by developing and implementing individualized health care plans.
- Conducting health screenings and immunization reviews to ensure compliance with state and school health requirements.
- Responding promptly to medical emergencies, providing immediate care, and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
- Monitoring and maintaining accurate health records, including student medical histories and incident reports.
Requirements:
- Valid and current RN license.
- Previous experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is required.
- Knowledge of school health laws, regulations, and best practices.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to respond effectively to medical situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Compassion, empathy, and the ability to work with sensitivity towards diverse student needs.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in healthcare.
