A school district in Kansas is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Occupational Therapist to join our team in Topeka. This position offers a part-time schedule and provides essential professional support to our students. Role: Occupational Therapist Employment Type: Part-Time
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations for students, including assessments of fine motor skills, sensory integration, and activities of daily living.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results and collaborate with the student's educational team to implement appropriate interventions.
- Conduct therapy sessions, either individually or in group settings, to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual perception, and self-help skills.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed and providing periodic reports to parents, teachers, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistency and integration of occupational therapy strategies within the student's educational environment.
- Stay updated on current best practices and advancements in the field of occupational therapy through professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Kansas.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational or pediatric setting.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, assessments, and interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to adapt therapy techniques to meet the individual needs of students.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting the development and well-being of children.
