Job Title: School Occupational Therapist
 

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Occupational Therapist to join our team for the 23/24 school year near Middletown, DE. As a School Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in helping students overcome physical, sensory, and developmental challenges that may affect their educational progress. Your expertise will contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters students' independence and functional skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' motor skills, sensory integration, and functional abilities
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, including therapeutic interventions and activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to implement strategies and accommodations in the classroom
  • Monitor students' progress, document their performance, and make necessary adjustments to intervention plans
  • Provide recommendations and training to teachers and support staff on strategies to promote students' independence and engagement in the classroom
  • Assist in the selection and adaptation of assistive technology and adaptive equipment to support students' needs
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required documentation

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Delaware state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist
  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a school setting is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices, assessments, and interventions
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
