Soliant is currently assisting a district that is in need of a School Psychologist near the Detroit, Michigan area. The position would be full time for the 2023-2024 school year. If this interests you, please apply now!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and instruction to students with behavior challenges in an inclusive classroom setting.
  • Conduct required evaluations to determine special education eligibility and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Attend team meetings and collaborate with other professionals to develop behavior plans and interventions.
  • Conduct functional behavior assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to address behavior challenges and promote positive social and emotional development.
  • Create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic and social growth.
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to behavior management.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and behavior data.
  • Provide ongoing communication and feedback to the multidisciplinary team and parents regarding student performance and progress.
  • Adapt instruction and materials to meet the unique needs of each student.

Qualifications:

  • Michigan School Psychologist license/certification is required.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Experience working with students with behavior challenges in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to develop and implement behavior plans and interventions.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with students with diverse needs.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to handle the demands of the position.
