Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Caseload: Entire school with approximately 450 students

Duties: General School Nurse duties

Job Description:

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a School Nurse for a 6-month assignment in Hackensack, NJ. This position is a full-time role with 37.5 hours per week and is needed as a backfill to provide essential healthcare support to the entire school, serving approximately 450 students. The assignment begins as soon as possible and concludes on February 5, 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Healthcare Services: Provide general healthcare services and support to students, faculty, and staff within the school setting.

• Health Assessments: Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and provide first aid as needed.

• Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and coordinate with emergency services when necessary.

• Health Education: Offer health education and guidance to students, promoting healthy lifestyles and practices.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students and staff.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
• Experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and calmly in high-pressure situations.
• Commitment to maintaining the health and well-being of students and the school community.
