Job Description: We are currently seeking a School Social Worker for the 2023-2024 school year in Pine Bush, NY. As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral well-being, as well as collaborating with educators, parents, and community resources to promote student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students, addressing a range of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies to support students' social and emotional development.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention services and support during critical incidents or emergencies.
  • Collaborate with community agencies and resources to facilitate access to additional services for students and families.
  • Conduct workshops and trainings for parents, staff, and students on relevant social and emotional topics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interventions and progress.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a master's degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Hold a valid license or certification as a School Social Worker in the state of New York.
  • Previous experience in crisis intervention is required.
  • BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) training or certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of social and emotional issues faced by students, as well as effective intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize student needs.
