Job Description:

Our school district in South Lyon, Michigan is seeking a qualified School Social Worker to join our team for the upcoming academic year. As a School Social Worker, you will work with students, families, and educators to support the social, emotional, and academic success of all students.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct services to students and families, including individual and group counseling
• Collaborate with educators and other professionals to support students with social and emotional needs
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
• Assist in the identification of students who may benefit from social-emotional and behavioral interventions
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student needs and progress
• Provide crisis intervention services as needed

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Social Work or a related field
• Valid license or certification as a School Social Worker in the state of Michigan
• Experience working with children and families in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
