As a School Social Worker for a district in Saginaw, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the well-being and academic success of our students. You will work collaboratively with educators, parents, and community resources to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of our diverse student population.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling to students, addressing a range of social and emotional issues.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to develop and implement strategies for supporting students' academic and personal growth.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify and address students' unique needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for students and staff on relevant topics.
  • Connect students and families with community resources and services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • State licensure as a School Social Worker (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with students.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding student services in education.
