Position Overview: As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in our educational community by providing essential social and emotional support to our students. You will work closely with students, families, and staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment, address social and emotional challenges, and promote overall student well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' social and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies to support students' academic and social success.
• Assess and provide interventions for students facing challenges such as bullying, peer conflicts, and mental health issues.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
• Serve as a resource for students and families, connecting them with community resources and support services.
• Promote a positive and inclusive school culture that fosters respect, empathy, and social responsibility.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and stay updated on best practices.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
• State of Michigan Social Worker License (LMSW or LCSW).
• Previous experience working as a School Social Worker or in a related educational setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of students.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of students, families, and colleagues.
