School Social Worker Position open- South Lyon, MI

Job Description: As a School Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social development of students within the South Lyon School District. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and the community to ensure students have the resources and support they need to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counseling to students facing academic or personal challenges.
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans for students with social and emotional needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive school environment.
• Work closely with parents and guardians to address concerns and provide resources for families.
• Advocate for students' needs and connect them with community resources when necessary.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support the overall well-being of students.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field.
• Michigan School Social Worker certification or eligibility for certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy and a passion for helping students succeed.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
• Knowledge of local community resources and support services.
