We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist to join our school district in Portland, Oregon. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students by providing evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for speech, language, and communication disorders. Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess students' speech, language, and communication abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on evaluation results and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide direct speech therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, targeting specific areas of need.
- Implement evidence-based techniques and interventions to improve students' speech, language, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop strategies for incorporating speech therapy goals into the classroom and home environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, regularly documenting and reporting on students' performance.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding speech, language, and communication strategies.
- Stay updated with the latest research, techniques, and resources in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Participate in professional development activities and seek opportunities for growth and advancement.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Oregon state licensure in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school or pediatric setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of speech, language, and communication disorders, as well as the ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational setting.
- Proficient in using assessment tools, therapeutic techniques, and technology relevant to the field of speech-language pathology.
