Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (APE) | Anaheim, California

A part-time Adaptive Physical Education Teacher is needed to provide in-home consultative services for K-12 students. This role involves working closely with students who require specialized physical education programs tailored to their unique abilities and needs. The position is contract-based for the current school year and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' physical development and overall well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement individualized physical education programs for students with adaptive needs
• Conduct in-home consultations to assess students’ abilities and recommend appropriate physical activities
• Collaborate with families, educators, and therapists to support students’ physical goals
• Monitor student progress and adjust programs as necessary
• Maintain detailed documentation and reports in compliance with school and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure as an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
• Experience working with K-12 students with disabilities or special needs
• Strong knowledge of adaptive physical education techniques and modifications
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with families and educational teams
• Ability to work independently during in-home visits and manage time effectively
