A K-12 school in Lakeville, MN, is seeking an experienced Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support for students with diverse physical needs. This contract position covers a maternity leave and offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a collaborative educational environment.

Position Details:

  • Start Date: February 6 (with possibility to start earlier)
  • End Date: June 10
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Caseload: Approximately 65 students, combining direct and indirect services
  • Schedule: Four days per week onsite at CMS and one day per week supporting the online program

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement adaptive physical education plans tailored to individual student needs
  • Deliver instruction and support both in-person and virtually to accommodate diverse learning environments
  • Monitor student progress through assessments and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
  • Collaborate with special education teams and participate in evaluations
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including special education forms and DAPE testing records

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Adaptive Physical Education (DAPE) licensure is required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of special education forms, evaluations, and DAPE testing procedures is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage a mixed caseload effectively
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
