This opportunity is for an Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher to provide summer compensatory services within a small K-12 district in Piedmont, CA. The role supports students through Extended School Year (ESY) programming focused on adaptive physical education, tailored to meet diverse student needs.

Position Details:

  • Location: On-site in Piedmont, CA
  • Duration: June 8, 2026 – July 3, 2026 (ESY program)
  • Schedule: Approximately 6 hours per week (4 contact hours plus 2 prep hours)
  • Student Population: K-12 adaptive physical education caseload within a small district
  • Contract Type: Temporary ESY assignment

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching license with an Adaptive Physical Education endorsement is required
  • Experience working with K-12 students, particularly in adaptive physical education settings
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized physical education programs for students with diverse physical and developmental needs
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and other professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive physical education instruction during summer compensatory services
  • Plan and prepare individualized lessons that meet student goals and align with educational guidelines
  • Monitor and document student progress throughout the ESY program
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment for students to develop physical skills and confidence
