School Audiologist - New Iberia, LA

Seeking a dedicated professional to provide essential audiological services in a supportive K-12 school environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that students with hearing impairments receive the necessary resources and interventions to thrive academically and socially.

Location: New Iberia, LA
Contract Duration: Full School Year

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct hearing screenings and assessments for students across various grade levels.
• Perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret hearing test results.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for students with hearing loss or auditory processing disorders.
• Recommend classroom accommodations and assistive technology, such as hearing aids and FM systems.
• Collaborate with special education teams, speech-language pathologists, and educators to support student needs.
• Provide counseling and guidance to students and families regarding hearing loss and auditory health.
• Educate staff on hearing loss awareness and best practices for supporting students.

Qualifications:

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as an Audiologist.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA is preferred.
• Experience working with school-aged children is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of hearing assessment procedures and assistive technology.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
