Seeking a dedicated professional to provide essential audiological services in a supportive K-12 school environment. This role is crucial in ensuring that students with hearing impairments receive the necessary resources and interventions to thrive academically and socially.
Location: New Iberia, LA
Contract Duration: Full School Year
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hearing screenings and assessments for students across various grade levels.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and interpret hearing test results.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for students with hearing loss or auditory processing disorders.
- Recommend classroom accommodations and assistive technology, such as hearing aids and FM systems.
- Collaborate with special education teams, speech-language pathologists, and educators to support student needs.
- Provide counseling and guidance to students and families regarding hearing loss and auditory health.
- Educate staff on hearing loss awareness and best practices for supporting students.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Audiologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from ASHA is preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of hearing assessment procedures and assistive technology.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
