A K-12 school located in Newark, Delaware, is seeking a dedicated Behavior Specialist to support student development and success throughout the academic year. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to assess and address behavioral challenges.
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Provide direct support to students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Deliver training and support to school personnel on behavior management techniques.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working as a Behavior Specialist or in a related role within K-12 educational settings.
- Proficient in conducting FBAs and designing BIPs.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral theories and interventions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications or credentials in behavior analysis or special education preferred.
