Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Bernalillo, NM

An opportunity is available for a skilled occupational therapy assistant to support students in a K-12 school setting located in Bernalillo, NM. This full-semester contract position involves working directly with elementary and middle school students, providing essential therapeutic interventions to enhance their educational experience and functional abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to student needs across one middle school and two elementary schools.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 35-40 students.
• Collaborate with educators, therapists, and school staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all licensing and school district requirements.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary approaches for student support.

Qualifications:

• Valid or the ability to obtain a New Mexico Registered Licensing Division (RLD) license.
• Valid or the ability to obtain a New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) license.
• Experience working in school settings is highly preferred.
• On-site availability required; virtual services are not supported at this time.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Hours and Location:

• Part-time, 30 hours per week.
• Work assignment split between one middle school and two elementary schools within the Bernalillo area.
