An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated professional to support a diverse K-12 student population in Cambridge, MA. This full-time position focuses on providing essential services to students aged 3-19 who are deaf or hard of hearing, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with relevant healthcare and school-based experience.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a school setting, particularly with deaf/hard of hearing populations.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) or willing to learn; school provides lessons for professional development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver therapeutic services to students requiring support in daily activities and educational goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators and other specialists.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust therapy techniques as needed.
  • Advocate for the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, promoting effective communication and learning strategies.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive school environment.
