An opportunity is available for a certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) eager to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time, contract position runs through the current school year and is situated in Chatham, VA, conveniently near Danville and just across the North Carolina border. The location also serves communities within a 1.5-hour radius south of Roanoke, expanding the impact across surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide occupational therapy services to a diverse K-12 student caseload.
  • Collaborate closely with two virtual occupational therapists to deliver coordinated care.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans aimed at improving students' functional skills and educational participation.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and progress notes in compliance with school policies and licensing requirements.
  • Participate in team meetings, parent conferences, and interdisciplinary planning sessions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Experience working within school settings, ideally with K-12 students.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with therapists and educators remotely.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in managing a full-time caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with virtual therapy support and telehealth environments is advantageous.
