Seeking an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support K-12 students in a school-based setting in Clovis, NM. This contract position spans the current school year and involves working closely under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to deliver therapeutic services that foster students’ educational and developmental progress.
Key Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- NBCOT certification
- Minimum one year recent experience, preferably in school or pediatric environments
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development as required by state and district guidelines
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering occupational therapy interventions aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Implement therapeutic activities designed to support educational and developmental goals
- Monitor and document student progress, collaborating with the supervising OT to modify therapy plans as needed
- Engage collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to meet student needs effectively
- Maintain accurate records consistent with state and district regulations
- Participate in professional learning opportunities to stay abreast of best practices in occupational therapy
