A full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) position is available in Norwalk, CT, at an elementary school setting. This contract role spans a full semester and offers an opportunity to provide support for students from preschool through 8th grade. The position is itinerant, allowing therapy services to be delivered across multiple classrooms as needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with occupational therapy interventions under licensed therapist supervision.
  • Supporting student development in fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities.
  • Collaborating with educators and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Documenting student progress and maintaining accurate records.
  • Adapting therapy activities to meet the diverse needs of students in various age groups.

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Experience working with children in school or educational settings.
  • Ability to deliver services across preschool to middle school age ranges.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with school staff and families.
  • Flexibility to travel between classrooms and potentially multiple sites within the district.

Location: Norwalk, CT Schedule: Full-time, approximately 35 hours per week Contract: Full semester duration Student Levels Served: Preschool through 8th grade
