A full-semester contract position is available for an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support students in a K-12 educational setting. This role involves working with two charter schools in the Aurora area, providing essential therapy services to enhance student learning and participation.
Location:
- Peyton, CO (servicing two charter schools in Aurora)
Schedule and Duration:
- Full semester contract
- 28 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services tailored to school-aged children, from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support individualized education program (IEP) goals
- Implement therapeutic interventions that promote motor, sensory, and functional skills required in a school environment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute professional input concerning student needs and accommodations
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with diverse K-12 populations
- Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy practices within educational environments
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across two school sites
