Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • At least one year of recent experience in the field, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development as required by the state and district

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering occupational therapy services under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Implement therapeutic activities and interventions aligned with students’ educational and developmental objectives
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, collaborating with the OT to adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Work alongside teachers, administrators, and parents to address and support student needs
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with state and district regulations
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in occupational therapy
