School-Based COTA | Texico, New Mexico

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) opportunity is available for a K-12 school setting in Texico, NM, on a contract basis for the full school year. This role focuses on supporting students’ educational and developmental needs through occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
• Valid Arizona state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
• Minimum of one year recent experience, preferably in school or pediatric therapy
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
• Compliance with continuing education and professional development requirements mandated by the state and district

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in delivering occupational therapy services aligned with individual treatment plans
• Implement therapeutic activities to support student progress toward educational and developmental goals
• Monitor and document student outcomes, collaborating with the OT to modify interventions as needed
