A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) opportunity is available for a K-12 school setting in Texico, NM, on a contract basis for the full school year. This role focuses on supporting students’ educational and developmental needs through occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
- Valid Arizona state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Minimum of one year recent experience, preferably in school or pediatric therapy
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
- Compliance with continuing education and professional development requirements mandated by the state and district
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in delivering occupational therapy services aligned with individual treatment plans
- Implement therapeutic activities to support student progress toward educational and developmental goals
- Monitor and document student outcomes, collaborating with the OT to modify interventions as needed
- Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with regulatory standards
