An elementary school is seeking a dedicated School Counselor to provide long-term maternity leave coverage, supporting K-6 students with social, emotional, and academic growth. This contract role offers either full-time or part-time options, with flexible scheduling to accommodate a variety of candidate needs.

Located in Carnegie, PA, the position runs for the current school year and focuses on delivering comprehensive counseling services. The ideal candidate will design and implement group counseling sessions, assist with career education and planning, manage crisis situations, provide individual counseling, and collaborate closely with teachers to support student development.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting group counseling and individual sessions tailored to elementary students’ needs
• Facilitating career education and planning appropriate for a K-6 setting
• Managing crisis interventions effectively and compassionately
• Collaborating with teachers and school staff to promote a positive school environment
• Supporting students’ social and emotional well-being throughout the school year

Desired qualifications and skills:

• Experience working as an elementary school counselor
• Demonstrated ability in group counseling, crisis management, and teacher consultation

Hours for this position are typically 8:00 AM to 3:10 PM. While the preference is for full-time coverage, part-time candidates will be seriously considered.
