School Counselor | Dalton, Georgia

A K–12 educational setting in Dalton, GA is seeking a dedicated professional to provide essential mental health and counseling support for students. This contract position, available for the current school year (CSY), offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the academic and emotional well-being of children and adolescents.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver counseling and guidance services tailored to students in grades K–12
• Provide mental health assistance and support to students facing emotional or behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement individualized intervention plans
• Conduct assessments, maintain confidential records, and track student progress
• Facilitate group sessions and workshops promoting positive mental health and coping skills
• Participate in onsite meetings and consultations, including availability for gathering information this Monday

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience as a Counselor, Guidance Counselor, or Mental Health Assistant/Therapist within a school or youth setting
• Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and mental health issues
• Ability to engage effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and needs
• Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Comfort with onsite presence and adaptability to changes in scheduling (including flipped classroom models)
