Teacher of the Deaf | Chapel Hill, North Carolina

A K-12 school in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a skilled Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) students for the current school year contract.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to support student learning and inclusion
• Utilizing assistive technology and communication strategies to enhance student engagement
• Monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction as needed

Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure to teach Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
• Experience working with DHH students in a K-12 educational setting
• Strong knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant techniques
• Ability to create a supportive, accessible learning environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
