Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
• Strong background in deaf education
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience working with diverse student populations, particularly in a high school setting
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Knowledge of various teaching strategies and assistive technologies

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary instructor in a self-contained classroom, delivering tailored instruction to meet students’ unique needs.
• Develop and implement IEPs that reflect each student's communication and learning goals.
